Getting Ready

I flew in the night before this wedding and took an Uber from the airport to the hotel where the reception would be held the following day. I was provided a room by the couple and shared that room with the bride and her sister (because she and I had previously been classmates and the co-workers this wasn't as odd as it sounds haha). Because we shared a room capturing candid getting ready shots of the bride with her sisters was super stress free.

Shooting at the Los Angeles LDS Temple

Chloe and Chad were sealed in the Los Angeles, California LDS Temple in January 2022. This was my first time shooting at this particular building, however I have lots of experience taking photos at LDS Temples since I am a Utah-based photographer. I was pleasantly surprised that the door used for couples to make their grand exit from was perfectly shaded. We ended up taking all of the family photos on this side of the temple as well since there was nice even light. It also happened to be overcast that day so lighting was a dream all around.

Hotel Ballroom Wedding Reception

The couple booked a block of rooms for friends, family, and vendors at the same hotel where they held their cocktail hour and reception. This made the night last as long as they wanted it to! As a vendor it also made it so much easier to go to bed after the night was over since all I had to do was take the elevator upstairs. Their reception was full of giggles and people dancing their hearts out to Taylor Swift and One Direction (as an Elder Gen-Z this was right up my alley).

Fed guests party best

Chloe and Chad spared no expense when it came to feeding their guests and vendors. There were hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour, a seated dinner menu, tables of food and desserts to peruse, cake (of course), and a tater tot bar that came out as a midnight snack! The continuous array of food kept everyone energized all night long and it gave everyone the chance to take advantage of the photo booth until the end of the night.
